There are many classes available at Koh Muay Thai to help supplement our All Levels and Kids Muay Thai classes. We encourage our Nak Muays to attend as many classes as they can. There is not such thing as too much practice! If you are interested in joining but aren’t sure if Muay Thai is for you, contact us to schedule a free session to see what Koh Muay Thai is all about. You may go home tired and a little sore, but we are sure you’ll love it!
In addition to our other listed classes, we also have the following on our weekly schedule:
Open Mat training sessions are open to all levels, ages, and members of the Koh Muay Thai gym. These classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am and are about 2 hours long.
These training sessions are loosely structured; while there is not a formal training topic or technique during the session, Nak Muays are encouraged to offer techniques they would like to spend their time to practice training on. Instructors and Level Ones assist in providing demonstrative reviews of particular skills, techniques, and combinations in question. Nak Muays are also provided the opportunity to enhance their speed or strength training as well as their cardio conditioning during Open Mat training sessions.
Nak Muays may be partnered with others in attendance—possibly mixing age and skill level to further challenge students and pair them with someone who can provide guided instruction and advice.
Thai Boxing Tough
An intensive workout and training course designed to specifically target muscle memory training and speed-strength conditioning for hand and elbow strike combinations, blocking techniques, and defensive and offensive boxing stances.
Held every Saturday at 9am, the hour-long training session is open to all levels. Providing an excellent cardio conditioning, the Thai Boxing Tough is the extreme version of the Thai Boxing Fit class. Nak Muays may be partnered with others of similar or varying skill levels to further their training or may be instructed to carry out strikes and combinations on the heavy bags.
The 30-minute sparring session is held every Wednesday at 6pm and is open to Level One Nak Muays or higher.
This is a Muay Thai Fitness class for Nak Muays under 12. Similarly structured to our all levels Thai Boxing Fit, the Kids Fitness session is designed to maximize strength and cardio training for younger Nak Muays at a performance level equivalent to their skills and capabilities. Common training activities include runner, jump rope, squats, low-weight training, and other cardio conditioning exercises.
We can’t guarantee the littles will go home tired, but we will sure try! The younger Nak Muays will also run drills to practice their techniques, maneuvers, and defensive and offensive stances and foot work to get their heart rates up and sweat pumping. This class serves as an excellent supplement to training in the Kids Muay Thai class.
The Kids Fitness is held every Friday at 4:15pm.
